Progress Update from 2D-PRINTABLE

2D-PRINTABLE's latest achievements in creating new 2D materials for printed electronics.

Milestone 1: Theoretical Identification of Novel 2D Materials Our first milestone is officially complete! Through rigorous computational analysis utilizing van der Waals DFT, we've identified a core portfolio of exfoliable materials tailored for printed electronic applications. Leveraging experimental data from leading databases, we've expanded our 2D material portfolio and predicted crucial properties like mechanical strength, charge mobility, and optical behavior. Explore our findings in the Materials Cloud two-dimensional crystal database: https://www.materialscloud.org/discover/mc2d/dashboard/ptable

Milestone 2: Synthesis of New Layered Crystals Another milestone unlocked! Working in collaboration with Prof. Sofer's team at UCT Prague, we've successfully synthesized a diverse range of 2D materials, scaling up production to meet industrial demands. From high-k dielectric insulators to semiconductors and metallic compounds, our synthesis efforts have yielded impressive results. Notable achievements include the production of large-scale hBN bowls and single crystals of molybdenum, tungsten diselenide, and more. Graphene Flagship

Bringing together 118 academic and industrial partners in 12 research and innovation projects and 1 coordination and support project, the Graphene Flagship initiative will continue to advance Europe’s strategic autonomy in technologies that rely on graphene and other 2D materials. The initiative, which builds on the previous 10-years of the Graphene Flagship, is funded by the European Commission’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. The 2D-Experimental Pilot Line, addressing the challenges of upscaling 2D material production processes for the semiconductor industry, is another key component of the Graphene Flagship eco-system.
