Graphene Flagship celebrates progress at Graphene Week 2023


Graphene Flagship’s annual conference, Graphene Week, will take place at Gothia Towers in Gothenburg, Sweden, 4 to 8 September 2023. The event will mark the 10-year anniversary of the Graphene Flagship and announces the results of a highly anticipated economic impact report. Results include a 14.5-fold return on initial investment and the creation of 81,000 jobs. The Graphene Flagship will present these findings at Graphene Week 2023, to register visit graphene-flagship.eu.

Materials of the future


Trace amounts of graphene and other layered materials are often sufficient to enhance the properties of other materials. Graphene Flagship researchers add graphene to metals, plastics and other materials, to make them stronger, lighter, conductive and so forth.

To answer this question, Graphene Flagship researchers published three studies related to the sustainable production of graphene related materials and their life cycle assessment – the best tool to evaluate the environmental footprint of a product or material.

Safety by design paves the way to a sustainable project


As the drive to commercialise graphene continues, it is important to thoroughly research and understand all factors that could influence its safety. The Graphene Flagship project has a dedicated Health and Environment Work Package to study the impact of graphene and layered materials on human health, as well as their impact on the environment.
