The partnering mechanism within the Graphene Flagship allows the initiative to add new knowledge, competencies, ideas and resources throughout the project.
Alignment with national and regional initiatives in Europe will play a crucial role in the GrapheneEU CSA and the future of the Graphen Flagship initiative. In this framework, a new Association Mechanism has been set up, based on the well-established system in place for the H2020 phase, which attracted over 200 Associated Member organisations and over 70 Partnering Projects under the Graphene Flagship (GF) umbrella over the past ten years.
This new mechanism will offer the possibility for organisations (industry, SMEs, higher education institutions or research institutes) or projects (funded nationally or through other EU programs) to join the GF initiative as Associated Members (AMs) or Partnering Projects (PPs). The aim of this mechanism is to promote broader exchanges and an inclusive environment within the 2DM community, as well as ensure the continuity of national and international collaborations established during the H2020 phase. Its implementation will reflect the new set-up of the Graphene Flagship initiative, where RIAs/IAs will be carrying out strategic research activities defined by the EC calls, hence a focus is expected on promoting synergies and mutual benefits, some of which may include expanding the network and establishing new collaboration opportunities and partnerships.
Associated Members and Partnering Projects will benefit from networking and collaboration opportunities with a broad scientific community, and as a consequence, increased visibility of their research and innovation outcomes. Furthermore, contacts and liaisons with major national and EU initiatives will be accessible through the network of national and thematic representatives, which will be created within the GrapheneEU CSA and will comprise researchers from the RIAs/IAs and Associated Member organisations.
